Chickens on the grass. Ziggy has been behaving very strangely, even for him. Just before this photo he was running around and around with his head down, periodically running into one of the Austrolorps. I think it’s flirting?

Also, he’s a bit smelly at the moment. I think he’s been sleeping under the hens and they are pooing on him. Not he sharpest tool in the chook shed.

The Ladies are on the other side of the run, in the good, green grass. They won’t let Ziggy around there.

Chooks eating the good grass down by the back fence. They seem to genuinely prefer it.

I forgot to check the nest box for a few days. 24 eggs in two drawers.

My brother has been caring for our Girls while we’ve been away and he snapped this photo yesterday of one of them brandishing a tiny mouse for her breakfast. Since we last saw them peck a mouse to death an
